Stupendous! Lamar Odom’s physical recovery has been nothing short of miraculous, however, his addiction issues may be a different story. Keep reading to find out what HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned about the latest on Lamar’s journey.
Lamar Odom, 35, can now walk, talk clearly and is beginning to live his old life again. The way Lamar’s body has bounced back from his tragic accident is nothing short of a gift from the universe. He is doing so well that his wife Khloe Kardashian, 31, who never left his side during his most critical time, is even considering a happy ending with the former NBA star. But Lamar’s bigger obstacle, the drug problem which was partly to blame for him ending up in this situation, may still be the difficult issue he has yet to tackle, HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned.
“Lamar is finished with his physical therapy and is doing much better, but his addiction issues are a different story,” shares the source. Over five months ago, Lamar Odom was immobile in a hospital in Las Vegas after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel. Since then, Lamar has worked his butt off just to walk again, and the source says all his hard work is paying off.
“His mobility and ability to communicate has vastly improved over the last couple of months. Lamar’s humor and personality is coming back too,” says the source. “He will return to see his therapists occasionally for more follow-up appointments and progress updates, but he has completed with his initial intense daily sessions.”
What landed Lamar in a coma after suffering from multiple seizures, the root of his mess, seems to be his drug-related issues. Addiction can take years to overcome. The source explains, “Lamar’s physical disabilities have drastically improved, but more work needs to be done to help him cope with his chemical dependency problems. Those troubles don’t go away overnight.”
Sounds like he still has a way to go before he can fulfill his dreams of being a NBA substance abuse counselor. Well, we hope Lamar continues on his road to better health. However long it takes Lamar to rise above all of his physical, mental and emotional demons, we will always be here to cheer him on.
