Could Matthew Perry BE any cuter? I think not. While he couldn’t be at the James Burrows tribute special on NBC with his ‘Friends’ costars, he did send a video — and it was perfect!
“We miss you Matty!” Matt LeBlanc said when the Friends cast, minus Matthew Perry took the stage at the special which aired on Feb. 21, Must See TV: An All-Star Tribute to James Burrows. And we did miss him — but his video message totally helped! He introduced the cast onto the stage for the James Burrows‘ tribute and we wanted to cry.

Let us repeat: “We miss you Matty” — it seemed to be the consensus tonight during the tribute special. Matt popped his head in for a recorded message where he introduced his “friends”… the actual cast of Friends. Sadly, he wasn’t there because he was in London for work, but just seeing his face pop up one more time — healed some open wounds for us.
Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc all joined together and their segment was absolutely amazing, but we have to say, it wasn’t the same without Chandler. Matt was in London in the play The End of Longing, which began previews on February 2 at the Playhouse Theatre.
“It’s not the reunion everyone is hoping for,” Matthew said during The Graham Norton Show on Jan. 15, adding that he planned on introducing him from London. “I’m doing the play here so I can’t be there.” In another interview he did later with BBC Radio 2, he actually couldn’t say which episode was his least favorite — because he couldn’t remember “three years of it” due to substance abuse. “So none of those.” He added that he “was a little out of it at the time… somewhere between seasons three and six.”
Well, regardless we were thrilled to see him, even thought it was only via video message! It’s better that than nothing, right?
