Uh oh! There’s a serious new twist in the Kanye West versus Taylor Swift feud over his claim that he “made that b*tch famous” in a diss track. Fans started freaking out when a Grammy producer said Tay okay’d the lyric, but now he’s retracted the statement.
Yikes! People thought Taylor Swift‘s reaction of shock and disgust to Kanye West‘s new song “Famous” might have have not been entirely genuine, because the producer of the Grammys telecast revealed Taylor knew for weeks about the song because she already had an advanced copy! This would have backed up Ye’s claims that she knew full well about the song and according to him, gave it the okay. However the producer has now done some serious backtracking after his words came back to haunt him.
“She had an advance of the track. She commented on it in a very funny way, she’s smart.” Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich dished to Entertainment Tonight, noting that she’d had the copy of “Famous” for several weeks. But that completely goes against Taylor’s own spokesperson, who on Feb. 12 said that she was completely in the dark about it. Once the quote got out, Ken quickly changed his tune.
“Regarding my statement at the Grammys about Taylor, I misunderstood what Taylor had told me. Under the pressure of rehearsals, rather than say that she was aware of the song, I said she had heard a track when in fact she had not and what she said to me didn’t imply that at all,” Ken said in a statement to HollywoodLife.com Feb. 19.
His original statement would have gone against Team Taylor, when her rep said,,”Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single “Famous” on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that b*tch famous.”

That statement had Yeezy fuming a day later, when Kanye called Tay a “Fake a**” during his backstage rant Feb. 13 at Saturday Night Live. He said the day prior that she was made aware of the lyric, claiming she thought it was ‘funny,’ and even that it was her who gave him the idea!
He lashed out on Twitter that, “I called Taylor and had an hour-long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings,” and that “I’m not even gone take credit for the idea it’s actually something Taylor came up with. She was having dinner with one of our friends who’s name I will keep out of this and she told him I can’t be mad at Kanye because he made me famous! #FACTS.”
HollywoodLifers, do you believe Taylor when she claims she was unaware of Kanye’s offensive lyric?
