Nina Agdal, Barbara Palvin and Rose Betram didn’t just wake up one day and get asked to be in the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue — they worked for it. HollywoodLife.com caught up with the trio of beauties at the Swim City event in NYC on Feb. 15 and they told us their favorite workouts!

1. Find the workout that fits you best.
Nina knows that body confidence is always a factor when it comes to getting in shape. “We’re never going to look like each other, end of story,” she declared. Amen! “Beauty goes beyond size. There’s literally not a size you can put on a beautiful woman, we all know that.” So what does she do to feel confident in a swimsuit? “Working out obviously will make you feel better,” Nina said. Then, “if you’re feeling confident, you can wear anything and you’ll look great”.
As for her favorite workouts, well, she can’t pick just one: “I do everything. So I do a bunch of mix up. I have my personal trainer, Andy Spear, who is the best man in the world who got me ready for this issue. I do ToneHouse, I do SLT, I do Y7 yoga, which is great for just stretching and mental health. I do various boot camps when I want to run. And then I do my own gym routine.” For those of us who AREN’T models, just picking just one of those workouts and sticking to it will do the trick!
2. Be comfortable with yourself as you make changes.
Just like us, Barbara doesn’t walk around automatically feeling confident in a bikini. “[These photoshoots are] all about the body and you’ve gotta be in really tiny bikinis. In the beginning it was difficult for me,” Barbara admitted. However, a pep talk from a friend helped her out — and you can do the same! “Lily Aldridge gave me a nice speech before my shoot. Be comfortable with myself, because I’m beautiful. She was very sweet,” Barbara said.
She likes to work out to help build confidence: “You have to accept your body. If you don’t like it, you’ve gotta work out…you’ve gotta be comfortable with yourself and confident.” Her number one tip is that you’ve gotta eat! “There’s all these girls that don’t eat and then they see food and they’re like, ROAR,” Babara joked. That means you need to eat right when you’re working out, and be sure to take care of your skin — we recommend the SI Swimsuit Issue’s official beauty line, LifeCell Skincare!
3. Embrace your body and workout for YOU, not someone else.
Rose is a big believer in “embrace what you’ve got”, she told us. “Nothing’s perfect, no one’s perfect. Plus, everyone looks 10 pounds thinner when they have confidence. Maybe just rock that — again, it’s the mindset, not the actual doing. Embrace who you are and that’s one of the best things about this issue this year is, with having Ashley on the cover, is every woman embracing themselves, which I think should be the direction we move in,” Rose said. Here’s our favorite tip that she has: “We don’t need to go to the gym for a dude, who cares, you know?!” Exactly!!
