Ronda Rousey has come out the winner, yet again. The amazing UFC fighter slammed people who decided to photoshop her muscular arms into skinny twigs, without her consent. Click to see her message on the awful pics!
You couldn’t ask for a better role model for positive body image. Ronda Rousey, 29, appeared on the The Tonight Show and later shared a pic of herself being interview by Jimmy Fallon. Sadly, it was a heavily altered photo which slimmed her muscular arms down — and this was NOT okay with her!
First off, why would any art team think it would be okay to photoshop a healthy muscular athlete’s body into their “ideal” image? Second, if you know Ronda, you would know that she is NOT ashamed to not have the tiny petite body, most models have. Third, we love that she kept it classy and was true to herself and her fans by taking to social media to send a positive body image to women. She shared the side-by-side picture with a very strong message: “I have to make an apology to everyone – I was sent a picture to share on social for Fallon that was altered without me knowing to make my arms look smaller. I won’t say by who – I know it was done with severely misplaced positive intentions – but this goes against everything I believe and I am extremely proud of every inch of my body.” Ronda ended her message with assuring fans that it would never happen again. “And I can assure you all it will never happen again. I could not be more appalled and hope you all forgive me.”
As for the photo, it’s sad someone would take a beautiful muscular woman and alter her image. If you look closely at the pic, not only were her arms heavily altered, but her leg was as well. We’re glad she spoke out about this, Ronda is truly an amazing role model!
