The life of the ‘Mob Wives’ star ended way too soon, after she tragically passed away from brain and lung cancer at only 55. Now, Dr. Oz is speaking out and he insists that Big Ang knew that it was smoking cigarettes that ‘killed her.’
As friends and family mourn the loss of Big Ang, 55, who passed away on Feb. 18 from cancer, Dr. Oz is also grieving. He has opened up about his final interview with the reality star which took place on Jan. 29.
Before Big Ang passed away, she gave one more emotional interview about her battle with cancer. She wanted fans to know that she felt strongly that it was smoking that had killed her. “She was scared. Which is always a sign that … people know more about their bodies than any test will tell you,” Dr. Oz revealed to People. “What the patient tells you is more accurate than what you can guess. She had been beaten down over the last year.”
The doctor added that, “When that happens, emotionally, the up and down, it tires you out. The exhaustion took a toll on her. The third cancer had metastasized to the brain and the adrenal gland. That’s a much worse scenario. They put her on aggressive chemo, which failed.” Dr. Oz continued his emotional interview by explaining that, “In the setting of that, she came on [the show] to get people to appreciate that this dumb cigarette addiction she picked up as a young woman, she wanted people to see the anguish in her face, as she was clear about the fact that cigarettes killed her.” So awful.
Dr. Oz ended the interview with a clear message about the importance of quitting smoking. “The chance of stopping cigarettes is less than 10 percent on your own, but you can double that with medical support: medications or therapy,” he sated. “Within hours of stopping cigarettes, your blood pressure drops, your lung function improves, and you see dramatic reductions in other risks. It takes years for other risks to go away, but you see benefits really quickly.”
