Big Ang’s tragic death on Feb. 18 shocked her fans and family, but one person knew it was coming: Big Ang herself! HollywoodLife.com has the EXCLUSIVE scoop that when Ang was diagnosed with cancer, the ‘Mob Wives’ star knew she was going to die.
No one can say Big Ang, 55, didn’t live her life to the fullest — especially when she knew she didn’t have much life yet. As fans and loved ones mourn the heartbreaking death of the Mob Wives star, HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned that when Ang learned she had the disease, she realized her time was running out.
“Ang was scared…the moment she found out she had cancer, she was scared she was going to die,” a source EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com. Ang famously became “one of the guys” in the mob world, thanks to her charm and take-no-prisoners attitude. Still, even she knew this disease would be her biggest challenge, one she would sadly lose on Feb. 18.
Big Ang bravely opened up about her fears while speaking to Dr. Oz. She appeared on the Feb. 16 episode of The Dr. Oz Show, admitting that when she was first diagnosed, “I thought that was it. I was done. ‘Oh, cancer. I’m going to die. Everybody dies from cancer.’ You know, you hear cancer right away and you think you’re going to die.”
However, Ang isn’t one to just give up. She fought the disease, undergoing surgery to remove a lemon-sized tumor from her throat. After further treatment, she seemed cancer free — until she was diagnosed with stage 4 brain and lung cancer. This cancer would be fatal, and Dr. Oz mourned Big Ang by remembering her “larger than life” personality.
“It comes as a shock,” the source tells HollywoodLife.com about Ang’s death. “It was Monday or Tuesday when she started to not feel well. Two weeks ago, her team was still talking about getting her more press. We knew her time was limited, but we didn’t know how limited.”
Taking a moment to wish you ALL a Happy Valentines Day my loves. May you be surrounded by the important things in life, especially LOVE. 💋💕

Ang knew how limited her time on this Earth was, long before she first developed throat cancer. Ang, while talking to OK! TV in 2013, said that “You [can] die tomorrow — Listen to me. I’ve seen it in my mother. We were sitting here having dinner, the next minute she was on the floor dead of an aneurysm. So I’m gonnna live day to day and buy whatever I want.”
Though Big Ang enjoyed every minute she had, her death is still very devastating, especially to her co-stars. “I was extremely shocked,” Marissa Jade EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com. “I had a great time working with her I wish I got to know her more, she’s a great person, fun-loving I could only wish to spend more time with her. It’s very sad.”
Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Big Ang’s family and friends during their time of loss.
