The professional fighter lost her first match ever when she was defeated by Holly last year, and it was obviously a very difficult time for her. Not only did it put a little dent in her career, she also got hit hard and suffered some injuries during the fight, and she revealed to Ellen DeGeneres that the loss got to her a lot more than people realized.
“Honestly, my thought. I was like, in the medical room and I was down in the corner. I was sitting in the corner, like, ‘What am I anymore if I’m not this?’ she explained, through tears. “And I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself and that exact second I’m like, ‘I’m nothing.’ What do I do anymore and no one gives a sh*t about me anymore without this.” Luckily, once she saw her man, Travis Browne, 33, Ronda quickly realized suicide wasn’t the answer. “I looked up at him and I was like, ‘I need to have his babies,'” she added.
Ronda has already gotten back in the ring after her defeat, and is expected to face Holly in a sure-to-be epic rematch this summer. But her career has moved well beyond just MMA fighting — she’s one of the new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition cover girls and will even be starring in the remake of Roadhouse. NO BIG DEAL!
