Kanye West doesn’t have time for being broke. Yeezy says he’s $53 million in personal debt, but being in the red didn’t stop the ‘Black Skinhead’ rapper from shopping for some ridiculously expensive luxury watches while in New York City.
Time is money, and thought Kanye West, 38, says he doesn’t have a lot of money, he decided he needed a brand new watch. However, instead of sticking to a budget wristwatch or buying a secondhand timepiece, Yeezy figured he’d treat himself to a new expensive piece of bling!
Yeezy found the time to hit up Jacob & Co in New York City on Feb. 15, according to TMZ. That’s the store of Jacob Arabo, aka Jacob The Jeweler aka the man whose jewelry has been seen on rappers like Jay-Z, 46, and Diddy, 46. One of the “ridiculously pricey” watches Yeezy looked at, while sipping champagne, will set someone back “the price of a small house,” per TMZ, so if Ye is broke, he’s certainly not acting like it.
Everyone learned the status of Kanye’s bank account when he tweeted that he was “53 million dollars in personal debt” on Feb. 13. While it does costs money to launch multiple fashion collections and produce some of the biggest rap albums of all time, it’s not like Yeezy’s career has been a flop. So some fans chalked up Yeezy’s claim as another Twitter rant. Now, though Kanye swears The Life of Pablo won’t ever be for sale, you can still stream a ton of music, unlimited and ad-free, by signing up here.
Kanye’s expensive new watch likely helped him make his flight back to L.A. on time. But, instead seeing if JetBlue or Southwestern had some seats on sale, Yeezy decided to fly home in style. “He just flew back to LA from NYC with Kim [Kardashian] in a private jet,” a source EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com. “That cost at least $50,000, and if I were broke, I think I would have a hard time affording to even fly on commercial airline.”
Maybe Mark Zuckerberg, 31, paid for Yeezy’s trip? Kanye made a passionate plea to the Facebook creator, begging him to “invest 1 billions dollars” into his ideas during — you guessed it — another Twitter rant. While it’s unknown if Mark decided to open his wallet, Ricky Gervais, 54, took a moment to trash Kanye’s ludicrous spending habits with a sick burn! He wasn’t the only one mocking Ye, as even Pizza Hut offered Kanye a job. Well, with Kanye’s new pricey watch, he won’t be late for his shift.
What do you think about Kanye shopping for expensive watches after he said he was millions of dollars in debt, HollywoodLifers?
