Aw, so sweet! In a new interview, Gwen Stefani held nothing back and was more than happy to confirm that her new single, ‘Make Me Like You,’ is 100% about Blake Shelton.
She just couldn’t help herself, could she? While chatting with Jimmy Kimmel about her new single on Tuesday night, Feb. 16, Gwen gushed over the fact that, yes, “Make Me Like You” is about her boyfriend, Blake.
“It is actually,” Gwen told the late night talk show host with a sly grin. “I will admit that that song is about that guy,” she added, confirming what was already incredibly obvious.
How is it obvious, you ask? Well, for those of you who might have missed Gwen’s live music video during the Grammys on Monday night, Feb. 15, she gave a coy shout-out to her beau by naming the bar featured in the video “Blake’s.” That was pretty much a dead give away that the song was about him!
However, during her interview, Gwen also admitted that her album was inspired by her divorce from Gavin Rossdale. But don’t expect it to be all sadness and woe-is-me tracks.
“What’s so crazy is that sometimes tragedy, if you really absorb it, you can turn it into something beautiful, and this whole album is about trying to take something that’s awful, and healing from it,” she explained. Good for you, Gwen!
