OMG! Gwen Stefani completely blew our minds with her amazing live video performance at the 2016 Grammys, and now she’s making her first post-show appearance for ‘Made Me Like U’ and it’s everything we hoped for!
Our Queen! Gwen Stefani, 46, stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live to celebrate her history-making live video at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards and she just can’t stop talking about her amazing romance with Blake Shelton, 39. She dished on her incredible live video performance, as well as the meaning behind her new song AND performed it at the end of the show! What an all-around guest she is, so read on for more about what Gwen had to say.
Gwen stopped by to talk to Jimmy Kimmel about her new album This Is What The Truth Feels Like and admitted her new song “Make Me Like U” is definitely about her man. “It is about Blake, I will admit that song is about that guy,” she confessed. As for her cathartic new album she noted, “What’s so crazy is sometimes tragedy, if you absorb it, can turn into something really beautiful.” Awww, it totally has ever since she and Blake found each other after their respective divorces and fell massively in love. She looked stunning in a black lace off the shoulder dress with her gorgeous blonde hair swept up as she discussed how she pulled off her amazing live video at the Grammy’s, noting “I can’t believe that happened, that was a trip.” It looked like SO much work went into it and she confirmed it did. “They’d been talking about it since Christmas, every little details counts,” revealing that a couple hundred people worked on it since then. “I probably worked on it six days at the most. Seven in the morning til like three in the morning.”
Whew, that hard work definitely paid off! As for her roller skating skills she showed off, “I sorta know how to roller skate from when I was a kid…Everyone thinking it was me (that fell) but it was a stunt double and we did that on purpose so everyone thought I fell.” Good to know!
Gwen went on to give a blow away performance of ‘Make Me Like U’ to close out the show, bouncing around the Samsung stage in front of a giant audience. She looked SO happy to be singing the new song, obviously with Blake on her mind as she had such a huge smile on her face the entire time! What a difference from “Used To Love You,” where she always looked so sad about the song’s subject matter. We love happy, bouncy, fun Gwen SO much better and how much it lets her go back to being a perky, engaging performer!
HollywoodLifers, what do you think about Gwen’s new song? Love it or hate it?
