Whew! What a roller coaster of emotion fans of Angela “Big Ang” Raiola went through on Feb. 17 after an entertainment news outlet claimed that the 55-year-old Mob Wives star had lost her battle with stage four cancer. But HollywoodLife.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY that she is NOT DEAD and the word comes from the very creator of the show who is there by her bedside in Staten Island, New York.
UPDATE: Big Ang passed away in the early hours of Feb. 18, a statement on her Twitter confirmed.
“At this time that is a false rumor. I am here with the entire family and all her friends and they ask for your continued support and prayers. We will keep everyone updated,” Mob Wives creator Jennifer Graziano confirms EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. It’s super sad that Big Ang’s condition has taken a turn for the worse and that she’s hospitalized and fighting her stage four lung and brain cancer, but we’re so relieved that she’s hanging in there. We’re totally pulling for you Big Ang!
There have been conflicting reports throughout the evening as it took almost an hour from the time the story broke that claimed Big Ang had passed away to the time that her rep said she was still alive and fighting for her life. The Twittersphere was left in a total state of emotional disarray and confusion as fans of the show first began to mourn her, then rejoiced that she was still alive. Given Big Ang’s turn for the worse things aren’t looking good for the reality star, but at least she is still with us.
