If anybody was going to do David Bowie justice, it’s Lady Gaga. The singer did just that at the 2016 Grammy Awards by performing a medley of the late icon’s hits while dressed just like him and it was, in one word, incredible. Watch the full performance if you missed it right here!
Slay, Lady Gaga, slay! The 29-year-old brought the house down during her tribute to David Bowie at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 15, and we can’t stop thinking about how amazing her performance was. Relive the epic moment by watching the full video here!
Gaga dressed as David’s alter-ego Ziggy Stardust for her set on stage, wearing a sparkling white jumpsuit and her hair, dyed bright red, slicked back from her face. And, of course, the face paint was totally on-point! She totally commanded the stage throughout the nearly 7-minute set, and let’s not gloss over the most important part: Her vocals were unreal.
The singer kicked off her medley with David’s first big hit “Space Oddity,” with holograms dancing across her face. She then transitioned into songs like “Rebel, Rebel,” “Fashion,” “Fame,” and “Heroes,” and was all over the place in the best way possible. From jamming on the keyboard to leading a charge of Bowie-inspired dancers, Gaga totally did it all during her performance. Stream Lady Gaga’s music ad-free RIGHT HERE.
The whole thing, rightfully so, got a standing ovation, and Gaga’s dedication to the performance was beyond words. Before the show, she got a tattoo of David on her side, and even on the red carpet, she channeled the musical legend, who died on Jan. 10 from liver cancer. Gaga played the part and she played it WELL!
