What’s going on with Rihanna? A source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that there is much more to her illness than she’s letting on — the ‘Work’ singer is just not feeling life right now.
Rihanna, 27, is one of the biggest artists in the world, so why is she canceling a major appearance like her performance at the 2016 Grammy Awards? HollywoodLife.com has new, EXCLUSIVE details about what’s going on with her behind-the-scenes and, unfortunately, it’s pretty upsetting.
“She keeps a good face for the public but behind closed doors, Rihanna‘s going through it,” a source close to the singer tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “She’s depressed. Her album isn’t popping the way she thought it would and that’s got her down. She’s a pop princess with a big ego but she’s still human and those anti-‘ANTI’ reviews kicked her in the gut.” Ugh, that sucks. We are so bummed to hear that Rihanna is… well, bummed.
Unfortunately, Rihanna’s sadness doesn’t end there. On top of being depressed about her album and having bronchitis, she’s also totally over being alone, claims our source.
“It gets worse — her love life blows. She doesn’t have any real romance that she feels will last a lifetime. She’s tired of the hookups, the booty calls, and seeing all her friends posting pictures of themselves with their boyfriends or girlfriends on Valentine’s Day made her sick to her stomach,” our source explained. “She’s having a rough patch and was really too sick to perform last night. She’ll get better but right now, she’s in a funk.”
In case you missed it, it wasn’t revealed that Rihanna had cancelled her performance until one hour into the Monday night, Feb. 15 live broadcast. First TMZ broke the news, then Rihanna’s own rep released a detailed statement explaining that the singer’s vocal cord’s were in danger due to her bronchitis. You can see the statement HERE.
