Finally! Ever since Adele’s ‘Hello’ came out, we’ve been waiting for the singer and Lionel Richie to meet, especially since he had an iconic hit in 1983 by the same name. So at last, the singers got their big moment together thanks to the Grammys.

Well hello you two! Adele, 27, and Lionel Richie, 66, have finally come face to face after she released her mega hit that had the  same simple title as the song originally made famous by the former Commodores front man. We were really hoping they’d do some sort of amazing mash-up of their two songs when we heard she’d been added to the list of awards show performers, but hey, finally meeting in person to say “Hello” will do for now! Read on to find out how the incredible introduction happened!

At last we have our Lionel and Adele moment and its all thanks to the magic of the Grammy Awards! Adele was there to perform “All I Ask” off her amazing 25 album, while the music legend was there to pick up the MusiCares award that featured an all-star tribute to his famous songs, both as a solo artist and the lead singer of The Commodores. The two met during the ceremony and Lionel made sure the world knew by posting a close-up photo of the pair to his Instagram with the caption “#HELLO @adele” while he made an introductory hand gesture, obviously thrilled to be meeting the song goddess. It’s amazing the moment even happened because Adele is super busy getting ready for her upcoming European tour which kicks off at the end of Feb. but hey, just having the two “Hello” singers in one place at the same time is a darn near miracle. We’d love to have been a fly on the wall with their conversation about each having huge hits with the same one word title. In our minds they totally broke into each other’s renditions and made beautiful music together, but for now we’ll have to settle for this sweet picture.
