This is so sad. A former contestant on The Bachelor named Lex McAllister apparently tried to take her own life on Feb. 13 by using prescription pills to overdose, and finally passed away on Feb. 16. Lex, a contestant on Jake Pavelka’s season of The Bachelor, was tragically found unconscious on Feb. 13, according to TMZ. The police as well as her family believe it was an attempt at suicide, as she had overdosed on prescription medication. While she was being taken to the hospital, she was reportedly in stable condition. However, her organs started shutting down soon thereafter and she became brain dead.
Her family was forced to make the terrible decision to withdraw life support on Feb. 16, thus ending her life at 31 years old. The former Bachelor contestant allegedly suffered from bipolar disorder and depression which lead to the suicidal tendency. Get to know more about Lex and who she was before her sad end.
Lex was a contestant on the 14th season of The Bachelor, where she fought for the affection of Jake, but unfortunately was cut on the first episode of the season. She made headlines when she defended the woman Jake chose after their breakup, saying that Vienna Girardi, saying Vienna was not at fault for the breakup.
Unbelievably, this is the second suicide of one of the contestants of season 14. Jake admitted he was “in complete shock and devastated” when he heard contestant Gia Allemand had passed away after hanging herself in 2013. So tragic!
