Awkward much? In this EXCLUSIVE preview of ‘The Magicians,’ Quentin seems desperate to win Alice’s forgiveness. Click inside to WATCH!
On the Feb. 15 episode of The Magicians, Quentin (Jason Ralph) and Alice (Olivia Taylor Dudley) finally come face-to-face for the first time since he trapped her dead brother, Charlie, in an enchanted box — therefore saving Alice’s life, and ruining all of her chances of bringing him back.
Eek. Few things are more awkward than facing someone you care about after taking away their one and only chance of bringing their beloved (despite deadly) brother back to the land of the living. Of course, in this clip from The Magicians fifth episode, Quentin does it not-so-gracefully.
Our nervous, socially awkward anti-hero carefully approaches Alice in the garden at Brakebills University during what appears to be an alumni mentoring social event. She is with her own mentor, who is apparently so cool she has Margo (Summer Bishil) in a tizzy, when the woman obviously see that these two need a moment alone.
Quentin tells Alice how awful he feels about trapping Charlie, even though it saved Alice’s life, but she tells him that she knows her brother died five years ago and that she shouldn’t blame him. It’s pretty clear she doesn’t truly agree with the words coming out of her mouth, but she’s trying.
Quentin tries to keep apologizing, or at the very least explain himself, but Alice doesn’t want to hear it. Instead she politely excuses herself, as Alice only would, and goes to save her mentor from Margo and Eliot’s (Hale Appleman) chit-chat.
Sadly, Quentin is left in the dust, and obviously very upset with himself. Poor Q!
