Gwen Stefani just made history…and it was even better than we imagined. The singer premiered the first ever LIVE music video for her new single ‘Make Me Like You’ during a Grammys commercial fpr Target — and even gave a shoutout to her boyfriend, Blake Shelton!
If anyone was going to be able to pull this off, it’s obviously a pro like Gwen Stefani! Taking on something that’s never been done before, the 46-year-old premiered a live music video smack-dab in the middle of the 2016 Grammy Awards on Feb. 15 — and she made it clear that Blake Shelton, 39, is the guy she’s singing about by not-so-subtly referencing him in the vid!

Gwen looked absolutely gorgeous with her hair curled and her lips bold red for the shoot, and she changed into a series of different outfits as she made her way around the colorful set. But, of course, we couldn’t help but notice that when she was in front of a bar set during one scene, the pub was conveniently named Blake’s — yup the writing was clear on the wall. How sweet is that adorable litle message she sent to her man!?
Gwen premiered the song for the first time on Feb. 11, just over a month ahead of the release of her new album, This Is What The Truth Feels Like. The mom of three has had QUITE a year, with a lot to draw inspiration from when it comes to music: Namely, her divorce from Gavin Rossdale, 50, and her new relationship with Blake. While the album’s first single, “Used To Love You,” was definitely an ode to the former, this track is all about the country singer and how he’s helped her find happiness again. “You can probably understand the multiple reasons why I just bought this…” Blake tweeted after purchasing the song. “I hope you do to!!!!” Further proving the tune is about her new man, Gwen responded, “hope u like this song,” with a wink face and heart emoji. Soooo cute!
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Gwen’s live music video? Do you think it’s a cool concept…or do you like regular music videos better?
