They stunned the world when they destroyed Manchester City, now Leicester City takes their title charge on the road to Arsenal on Feb. 14 at 7 a.m. EST. Can the Foxes continue to surprise the odds? Click here to watch the live stream.
Now we have to start taking them seriously. After stunning Manchester City with a sensational 3-1 away win, Premier League leaders Leicester City travels to Emirates Stadium to face off against their title rivals Arsenal in the game of the weekend. It’s going to be a great match, and we don’t want you to miss a single kick.
Leicester has continued to prove the doubters wrong. Just when you think their title challenge will be derailed against more-fancied opposition, they somehow make us all look a little silly. In recent weeks, they’ve beaten Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Manchester City so they are at the top on merit.
Arsenal’s Premier League aspirations wobbled in January when they failed to win in 4 games, dropping from first to fourth pretty swiftly. But after last week’s much-needed 2-0 win against Bournemouth, the Gunners are back up to third. A win against Leicester will see them climb to within two points of the leaders, so it’s a huge game for them.
They will take comfort in the fact they are one of only two teams to have tasted victory against Leicester this season. In the game at the King Power Stadium on Sept. 26, Arsenal beat Leicester 5-2 in a pulsating game that was anything but one-sided, despite the scoreline.
They had forward Alexis Sanchez to thank that day — the Chilean international scored three goals, so he will be hoping to repeat the same trick in the return fixture. He will also have the service of Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil to thrive on, and the pair can do real damage.
But Leicester can cause Arsenal lot of problems, with Premier League leading goalscorer Jamie Vardy always a threat. Look out for Riyad Mahrez too, who has been in sensational form this season and he will need to be watched closely by Arsenal’s defenders.
