Get ready for more April Nardini! Vanessa Marano, who played Luke’s daughter on the long-running series, is the latest cast member to return for the ‘Gilmore Girls’ revival series.
Whether you like it or not, April Nardini is coming back for the Gilmore Girls revival. Vanessa Marano is confirmed to reprise her role as Luke’s daughter in the highly-anticipated revival. April is widely known by fans as the person who broke up fan favorite couple Luke and Lorelai.
Vanessa and her character will be a part of Netflix’s Gilmore Girls revival, our sister site Variety reports. It’s not clear how many episodes April will be in, but she’ll definitely be popping back up in Stars Hollow.
April was featured in the sixth and seventh seasons of Gilmore Girls. It was a shock to fans when it was revealed that Luke had a young daughter. April’s appearance in Luke’s life became a breaking point in Luke and Lorelai’s relationship. Complications with April lead to Luke and Lorelai’s heartbreaking split.
“That poor, poor 12-year-old fictional character was hated, which I get,” Vanessa Marano told E! News in 2015. “I kind of hated April Nardini, too, as a fan of the show. She broke up Luke and Lorelai!”
It seems like another Gilmore Girls is announced to return every day. The core four — Lauren Graham (Lorelai), Alexis Bledel (Rory), Scott Patterson (Luke) and Kelly Bishop (Emily) — were the first to be announced that they would return.
Liza Weil (Paris), David Sutcliffe (Christopher), Sean Gunn (Kirk), Keiko Agena (Lane), Yanic Truesdale (Michel) and Emily Kuroda (Mrs. Kim) will also return for the four-part series as well.
The revival will take place 8 years after the series finale. The revival will be split into four 90-minutes episodes. Each episode will be titled after a season.
