BRB as I pass out from the perfection that is Kate Spade’s Fall 2016 collection. Fall tends to be about muted colors, but not here — bright florals, blushing pinks and rich reds defined key pieces in the presentation, and I can’t get enough.
Kate Spade New York is always my favorite part of New York Fashion Week. Not only are the clothes and accessories beyond covetable; the team really knows how to put on a show. Today’s presentation involved a live band, free-flowing champagne and a revolving platform of models — get all the details here!

I’ll be straight with you: I am Kate Spade New York’s number one fan, so there was no way I wasn’t going to love every inch of this presentation. The second I walked into the (already gorgeous) Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center, I knew I had found heaven. The space was perfectly lit thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows with views on every side (hello, Central Park), and dazzled with hanging crystals. The centerpiece, though, was an enormous platform in the middle where the models stood, showing off the collection.
As I watched the live band while demolishing a mini eggs benedict, followed by a mini cone of french fries and a tasty crab thing — before chasing it all with champagne — I thought to myself: what did I do to deserve this bliss?
Anyway, the clothes, shoes and accessories are gorgeous. Standouts include a beautiful blue hydrangea-print halter dress that was accessorized with an adorable handbag shaped like a boombox, black glitter stiletto sandals featuring darling white flowers on the straps, and a huge, puffy fur hat that just screams “badass”. The verdict: I want and need everything immediately.
Did I mention there were free t-shirts that say “Kate Spade New York: Live at the Rainbow Room” on them, thereby combining my two loves — Kate Spade and Saturday Night Live — ? Well, there were, as well as free pens, pins, and matchbooks. You never leave a Kate Spade pres empty-handed. Plus, Ellie Kemper, actual ray of sunshine/one of my favorite people ever, was spotted mingling with the crowd.
