Oh, the nostalgia! Fantasia Barrino, Ruben Studdard and more reclaimed their rightful place on the ‘Amerian Idol’ stage on Feb. 11 to sing duets with the top 24 contestants. They were amazing! Learn all about it, here.
Bravo! Fantasia Barrino gave the most amazing set of performances with some of American Idol‘s top 24 contestants on Feb. 11, and she’s not the only one! Fantasia, Ruben Studdard, Scotty McCreery and more came back to the Idol stage to help usher in the next generation. So cute! Here’s the scoop.
Oh my gosh, it was so wonderful to see so many past Idols back on the AI stage on Feb. 11. And they proved that they’ve only gotten better and better since they won! Especially the gorgeous Fantasia, who performed not one but two amazing duets with top 24 contestants. First she did a gorgeous rendition of Ella Fitzgerald’s “Summertime” with La’Porsha Renae, and we couldn’t get enough! Her distinct, soulful voice hasn’t changed a bit! And when they went on a series of vocals runs together at the end? Goosebumps! The song was sexy, sultry and so much fun. We literally could have died when she performed her victory song “I Believe” alongside Jordan Sasser next. We caught all the feels!
For a major throwback, we were so happy to see Ruben take the stage after winning 13 years ago (crazy, we know!). He brought that silky-smooth voice out of the closet and became out velvet teddy bear once again when he performed with Stephany Negrete. They did a gorgeous version of the song that earned Ruben a Grammy nomination, “Superstar.”
We were also head over heels for Scotty’s diet with the lovely Jenna Renae. They totally brought his country twang back to the Idol stage, and we were obsessed! Even better, Scotty sang his own song, “See You Tonight.” We loved hearing a different take on the hit by making it a duet, and it sounded so beautiful. Plus, we an’t get enough of his adorable smile and bright blue eyes. So cute! Check out the full run down of the evening, here!
