Move over Dick Wolf — Taylor Kinney just told HollywoodLife.com that he has the perfect storyline for how the ‘Chicago Fire’ cast can show up in NYC for a ‘Law & Order: SVU’ crossover episode!
Chicago Fire has crossed over with Chicago Med and Chicago P.D., and P.D. has been intertwined with SVU. But how could the fireman head to the Big Apple? We caught up with Taylor Kinney — AKA Severide, during TV Guide‘s celebration of the Chicago Franchise on Feb. 8, and he told us his idea that yes, he’s going to pitch to Dick Wolf.
“I always pitch the idea of Mariska [Hargitay] & I being love interests,” Taylor told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at the event in NYC. “I say, ‘Why wouldn’t Severide hit on her? Of course he would!'” However, we’re yet to see the firehouse pack up and head to New York.
“We were joking around about the idea — what would bring the Chicago fire fighters to NY? I could pitch ideas to Dick [Wolf] ’til he’s blue on the face, but I don’t know how many of them they would weigh. I’m thinking, maybe if there was a Macy’s Day Parade and Chicago firefighters came on a float, and then something happened! Oh yeah, I got ideas!” Join Amazon Prime For Free To Watch Thousands Of Shows
Hey, that doesn’t sound so bad. Maybe Taylor should head into the writers room some time! Anyway, while he’d love a romance with Mariska (and said he’d fight Voight for it), he knows that Severide’s not so good with relationships — and is probably still married.
“You know whats funny, season three, my love interest and I got married. She leaves out of town on a bus, and she said, ‘Hey do you want your ring back?’ I said, ‘No keep it, so I have a lot of fans and people that watch say, ‘You’re still married?’ and I’m like, ‘Technically!’ But really, I don’t know how well he’d do settling down.”
Alright we can agree on that — but maybe Olivia Benson can tame him. Tune in to Chicago Fire on NBC every Tuesday at 10PM.
