Chris Martin had the biggest smile on his face throughout the entire show, and his happiness was totally infectious. The group kicked things off with its lead singer out on the field before running up to the stage while singing “Viva La Vida.” They transitioned into clips from their hits “Paradise” and “Adventure of a Lifetime,” but the most memorable part of the whole thing was the incredible, colorful effects that took over the stage the entire time. Even Chris’ outfit featured colorful designs!
Bruno and Bey took over next, with the former singing his No. 1 hit “Uptown Funk” and the latter totally crushing her new tune, “Formation.” After the pair’s epic dance-off, the trio came together to belt out the ending of “Uptown Funk,” and Chris raced back to his piano for a gorgeous version of the band’s hit “Fix You,” while a video reel showing clips from previous halftime shows played on the screen. Throughout this last section, the entire crowd held up colorful cards that were carefully placed in their seats before the show, and a number of white cards spelled out the phrase “Believe In Love” in one giant section of the massive stadium. It played SO well over the television, too! Amaaazing!
