Let’s dive right in — after last week ended with To Be Continued, we had to see what would go down with Olivia and Ben on ‘The Bachelor.’
The Bachelor kicked off with a “Previously on” segment, something that never happens on this show, before Ben Higgins pulled Olivia aside to bring up the fact that it seems like none of the girls can get along with her. So, did he send her home?
Well, Olivia defended herself to Ben in the creepy ally way, explaining that it’s just tough for her to connect with the girls — at first she had a huge target on her back because she was getting roses and time with him, so she pulled away from them, then she was blamed for being antisocial. She couldn’t win, Ben. Rewatch the craziest moments from this episode here.
Her response to the girls trying to send her home? “Come at me, bro.” Yes. Really. And with that, she kept her rose. Emily was scared that he’d send her home instead, but he actually chose to send home Jennifer. So, what’s next? The Bahamas, duh!
Caila (for the second time) got the one-on-one date — and Leah was totally heartbroken since she had never gotten that personal time. So while Caila and Ben enjoyed some deep-sea fishing and making out, Leah bawled her eyes out. But let’s get back to the date. After a day at the beach, Ben and Caila’s heart-to-heart was kind of confusing. She told him she was falling in love, but had a fear of hurting him and not allowing herself to really fall in love with him. After a lot of questioning, she cleared it up — and Ben found it “attractive” that she “could be confusing.” Ok, Ben! And yes, she got a rose.
The group date went to Lauren B., Becca, Amanda, JoJo, Lauren H. and Leah. So, what did they do? Well duh, they went swimming with pigs and fed them hotdogs. Alright, they were chicken but still. Yup. Pigs. That happened. Overall, the group date was really awkward — all the women felt uncomfortable since they were all vying for his attention, and Ben didn’t get it. Leah tried explaining her feelings too, but eh, that didn’t really go anywhere either.
Leah’s Evil Plan… Backfires
Overall, it was the most awkward group date ever so it was time for the girls to be honest. Leah came clean with Ben, saying she felt Lauren B. isn’t the same in the house as she is with him, and that if they ended up together, it wouldn’t work. Jeesh! Naturally, Lauren B. interrupted, and was pretty upset when Ben filled her in. She broke down after — and Leah completely denied it and flat out lied. Catfight anyone? The group date rose went to Amanda.
Following the date, Leah felt she needed to talk more with Ben about why he needed to send home Lauren B. She said she didn’t want to sit there and talk crap, then did just that. Ben did not like the fact that she spent all her time with him talking about Lauren B. And with that, he told her there was a disconnect — not at all what she expected. With that, she was sent home. However, if you thought that was awkward, just wait for the 2-on-1 with Olivia and Emily.
When 2 Becomes 1
The girls headed onto a speedboat and to say it was a stormy date is an understatement. Olivia spent all her time not talking about others, but actually just talking about herself. (“Deep, intellectual things are my jam.”) Also, she told Ben she was in love with him. As for Emily, it was more playful and real, and well . . . that’s probably why he chose her. Yup, he took Olivia aside and told her that his true feelings weren’t there.
After that, Ben canceled the cocktail hour, and everyone who didn’t have a rose was worried. Amanda, Caila, and Emily already had roses — and Becca, JoJo, Lauren B. joined them. That meant Lauren H. was eliminated.
Are you happy with the final six?
