Peyton Manning, you just won Super Bowl 50. What are you going to do next? Kiss Papa John! After securing the victory on Feb. 7 and before celebrating with his wife, Ashley Manning, Peyton made sure to give some love to the pizza restaurant founder. Click to watch.
Maybe winning put Peyton Manning, 39, in the mood for pizza? After the Denver Broncos pulled off an impressive victory over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50, Peyton just had to celebrate with a loved one. No, he didn’t rush to his wife, Ashley Manning, 37 — Peyton planted a kiss on “Papa” John Schnatter, 54.
Yes, Peyton and the founder of Papa John’s shared a bromatic kiss on the sidelines, right after the Broncos pulled off the upset during the Feb. 7 sports spectacular. Peyton was rightfully excited — he just won his second Super Bowl. What better way to kick off the post-game party than with a brotastic smooch?
When he was up on the podium to accept the Lombardi trophy, Peyton made sure to include Ashley in his post-Super Bowl plans. “I want to go kiss my wife and my kids. I want to go hug my family,” Peyton told CBS’ Tracy Wolfson, according to People. “I’m going to drink a lot of Budweiser tonight, Tracy, I promise you that,” he added. Pizza and beer to celebrate the big win? Sounds perfect! Be sure you have the right tunes for your party by singing up to stream unlimited and ad-free music.
It’s a bit awkward that after winning the biggest game in his career, Peyton put the priority on puckering up to Papa John than his wife. But, Peyton and John and bros. Peyton has famously appeared in Papa Johns commercials, and he even invested in 21 franchises in 2012, according to ESPN. Plus, when Peyton was involved in his HGH scandal, John threw his support behind the Broncos quarterback, calling him a “trusted friend,” per NESN.
As weird as Peyton’s Papa Johns kiss was, it was not as awkward as his brother’s reaction to the win. Eli Manning, 35, is a two-time Super Bowl champion with the New York Giants, and he didn’t seem too excited with the Broncos successfully nailed the two-point conversion that secured the win. Some fans wondered if Eli was actually rooting for Cam Newton, 26, and the Panthers to win? Another captioned his reaction, “when your brother brings home a better report card than you.”
