President Obama gave his eighth annual pre-Super Bowl interview just hours before Super Bowl 50 kicks off, and football fans are hoping something different happened this time around: did he predict a winner for once? Click through to find out!
President Barack Obama, 56, sat down for his eighth and last pre-game interview before Super Bowl 50 on February 7 at 4:00pm on CBS. The enlightening interview included First Lady Michelle Obama for the first time, as the first couple sat down with CBS’ Gayle King to discuss what Super Bowl Sunday is like when you live in the White House. Hint: it’s a lot cooler than at any of our houses! But did President Obama buck tradition and finally say who he was rooting for in the Super Bowl? Click through to read what he said!
When it comes to the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers, President Obama thinks everyone’s a winner at Super Bowl 50. Seriously, please stop asking him which team he thinks is going to win, because his lips are sealed! The president has said in the past that the Chicago Bears are his favorite team, and unfortunately they weren’t in the running this year. Hey, he’s staying faithful to his team, right?
“It’s been awhile since the Bears were there [at the Super Bowl] so we don’t yell that much. We’re hoping for a good game. It’s going to be a good game,” President Obama said. And that’s that! However, he did make things interesting — he wrote down his prediction on a piece of paper, sealed it into an envelope, and gave it to Gayle! That’s unprecedented for him; will we ever find out what he said?
As for game day, the president and first lady have an amazing party ahead of them. The game watching happens in the White House Treaty Room, and for those who really don’t care about the game, you’re welcome to sit in what Michelle calls the “Champagne Room.” — that’s where the booze is! Their snack game is stacked, too. “Your basic wings, booze, nachos, guac,” President Obama explains. “There’s a little vegetable tray next to the stuff that nobody touches.” Omg. Michelle butted in with her own joke, correcting her husband: “We’re going to have two types of salad.” CLICK HERE to watch the Super Bowl!
