This is just so heartbreaking. Snapchat sensation Katie May, 34, passed away on Feb. 4 after suffering from a severe stroke just a few days before, and HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned from her sisters, Jenny and Megan May, that her close friends and family paid their final respects by her bedside before the difficult decision to turn off her life support machine was made.
Since her sudden death, fans have poured their emotions onto social media and paid tribute to the beautiful pin-up. Her popularity was testament to how many friends came to the LA hospital to say goodbye as she was being kept alive on life support, Katie’s sisters told HollywoodLife.com in an EXCLUSIVE interview.
“Her friends were all around her in the hospital to say their goodbyes,” the sisters EXCLUSIVELY revealed. “They described her as the best friend they ever had, and just for a little 5-foot-1 and 5-foot-2 she was an absolute powerhouse.”
So sad. As HollywoodLife.com previously told you, Katie’s sisters sat down with us to discuss their little sister’s final days. “She wasn’t feeling well on Monday (Feb. 1)” they explained. “She went to the ER, and it originally was a neck pain. From what we’ve learned since, it was a massive stroke.”
So far, a cause of death hasn’t been determined and reports of a fall at a photoshoot haven’t been confirmed. But her condition got worse over time. “On Tuesday, she became non-responsive. We got out to LA on Wednesday and discovered she was being kept alive by machines,” Megan and Jenny told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Then they got the terrible news that Katie was brain dead. That’s when they had to make the most difficult decision of their lives. “They (doctors) wanted to wait. Our family was extremely close. She was our baby, she was the youngest of 4, she was my baby doll,” Jenny told HollywoodLife.com. She continued, “We love her dearly, so we were all around her when we took her off the life support on Thursday.”
