Things do not look good for Johnny Manziel right now. His father, Paul, truly believes the Cleveland Browns QB will not live to see his next birthday if he doesn’t get help after the recent assault allegations made by his ex-girlfriend.
Johnny Manziel, 23, has some very important people concerned about his well being now, including his loving father, Paul Manziel.
In a revealing new interview, Paul Manziel, father of famed NFL player Johnny Manziel, reveals that his son desperately needs to be placed in a rehab facility before it’s too late. The shocking statement from Johnny’s dad comes shortly after his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, filed for a restraining order and claimed that the quarterback violently assaulted her.
“I truly believe if they can’t get him help, he won’t live to see his 24th birthday,” Paul told The Dallas Morning News. The concerned father also shared that his son had refused to enter a rehab facility twice in one week.
Even more shocking is that Paul went to the authorities and told them that he believed his son was suicidal, and therefore a danger to himself. He tried to get Johnny into a psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital on Tuesday, Feb. 2, but the football player was allowed to leave on his own despite Paul’s multiple concerns.
A source close to Johnny said that the QB is concerned about what people are saying about him thanks to his ex-girlfriend’s assault allegations, but that he’s doing “alright,” reports ESPN. That sounds minor compared to what his father, Paul, thinks.
Sadly, all of this stems from Johnny’s ex-girlfriend and her claims that the star football player struck her multiple times during a night out in Dallas, Texas on Sunday, Jan. 31. A police report released on Feb. 4 revealed details about the alleged incident, including that the couple had been partying together before he allegedly hit her and threatened to kill her and himself.
