Cam Newton is doing hours of press ahead of Super Bowl 50, but he got a bit of a reprieve when he found Snoop Dogg was one of the reporters asking questions at media day on Feb. 4. Watch the Q&A and see Cam’s funny reaction right here!
Snoop Dogg, 44, is getting a taste of life on the other side of the camera! The rapper joined a group of reporters at media day for the Super Bowl on Feb. 4, and he got the opportunity to interview one of the stars of the upcoming game, Cam Newton, 26, quarterback for the Carolina Panthers. Watch the funny back-and-forth here!
At this point in the day, Cam was understandably getting tired of asking similar questions over and over, so it was nice to see him chuckle upon realizing Snoop would be questioning him next. “Is the kid in you outweighing the man in you in this big game?” the 44-year-old asked, and Cam himself had to admit that it was a “good question.”
“I just think half of me tries to be as professional as possible, but the human in me just wants to take it all in,” the football star explained. “So it’s hard for me to give you, like, a direct answer without bringing both sides out. Of course, the professional side, you still have to go through coming up with any type of edge, because you’re still preparing for a team, but all the festivities, the media, everything leading up to it all — all you see is Panthers/Bronco convo on TV — it’s hard not to just take it all in. It’s a dream come true and hopefully we are prepared come Sunday.”
Cam even brought a bit of wit to the interview when Snoop asked if his three kids, who would be sitting in the crowd, could have footballs. “Depends on where they sittin’ at!” the QB quipped back. But all is well, as the rapper replied, “They sittin’ right where they supposed to be sittin’.” Panther territory, of course!
The Carolina Panthers are taking on the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50, and with Cam and Peyton Manning as the respective quarterbacks, it’s sure to be an epic match. The game starts at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, with Coldplay and Beyonce taking the stage for the halftime show, and we seriously cannot wait!
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Snoop interviewing Cam? Who do you hope wins the big game on Sunday?
