Remember the Budweiser frogs or Betty White’s Snickers ad? How about Britney Spears, Beyonce and Pink teaming up to sing ‘We Will Rock You’? Of course you do because those are just a few key moments from some of the most memorable Super Bowl commercials of all time. To see the best of the best, keep reading!
Some people watch the Super Bowl for the football, and others watch it for the halftime show and the commercials (me). So in an effort to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the big game, we’ve put together a list of the best and most iconic Super Bowl commercial ever. See them here!
Take a look at five of our favorite commercials below:
1. The Budweiser Frogs
Bud, Weis, and Er were three puppet-like frogs that first appeared in TV commercials for Budweiser beer during the 1995 Super Bowl. The ad started with a scene of a swamp at nighttime, and the three frogs would rhythmically croak their names until they got faster and faster, forming the Budweiser name. The commercials were iconic and ones we’ll never forget!
2. Betty White’s Snickers Ad
Betty White‘s Snickers commercial aired during the 2010 game, and it quickly became a fan-favorite. Some even said she won the Super Bowl because of her popular ad. In it, a guy having a bad football game plays like the Golden Girls actress (she plays him), but once he eats a Snickers bar, he transforms back into his normal self.
3. Beyonce, Pink, and Britney Spears’ Pepsi Commercial
4. Britney Spears’ Original Pepsi Commercial
In the late ’90s/early ’00s, Britney Spears was the face of Pepsi, which is why she was featured in so many Super Bowl commercials for the brand. But the one that started it all, and aired in 2001, will always be our favorite. Her racy pop style was mixed with old Pepsi jingles and the result was pure magic!
5. Volkswagen’s Darth Vader Ad
And one of the most shared Super Bowl commercials of all time — it has nearly 64 million views on YouTube — features a little Darth Vader. It was the first time we ever looked at one of the film industry’s most iconic villains and thought, “Aw, how cute!”
