“Really love you guys… @fuzzyhall@davemirra @bowie82,” TJ captioned the sweet Instagram photo seen above. He also told TMZ the following after learning the heartbreaking news: “I just wish he would have called me. I would have jumped on a plane in a second. There’s always another way. If anyone needs help, just please get it. I feel sick about this.” Not only did Dave and TJ both compete in BMX events, but they also each hosted MTV’s The Challenge.

As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Dave, 41, was allegedly found in his truck in Greenville, North Carolina with “an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.” He was there visiting friends and just hours before his death, he posted an Instagram photo of himself and his wife. He captioned it with the following message: “My Rock! Thank god.” So sad.

“We mourn the loss today of a great friend and wonderful human being who touched the lives of so many around the world with his gift. He called Greenville, North Carolina home and was as humble a guy talking with kids on a street corner about bikes as he was in his element on the world stage. A young life with so much to offer was taken too soon,” City of Greenville Mayor, Allen Thomas said in a statement provided by the police.

Our thoughts continue to go out to Dave’s family and friends during this difficult time.
