TMZ confirmed Katie died surrounded by her friends and family. She “was taken off life support Thursday evening” and then died shortly thereafter.

As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Katie had been complaining of back and neck pain, and although she’d sought treatment, a blockage in her carotid artery wound up causing the devastating stroke. Since Katie was young, this condition, and her death, were completely unexpected and tragic, made even more heartbreaking by the fact that she has a 7-year-old daughter.

Besides appearing in Playboy, Katie is a social media star, known for her popularity on Snapchat and Instagram, where she has nearly 2 million followers. The gorgeous blonde’s family has started a GoFundMe page to support her young daughter, Mia, but obviously nothing can ever replace the little girl’s mother. This story is so sad, especially since, just hours before the stroke, Katie took to Instagram to share an optimistic message and gorgeous photo of herself — it’s so incredibly scary how fast things can change.

HollywoodLifers, are you shocked by Katie’s tragic fate? Have you ever heard of anything like this happening?
