Dakota Johnson, 26, showed off a gypsy-glam look at the NYC premiere of her new comedy, How To Be Single. Wearing a beige Saint Laurent gown that was embellished with silvery gold sequined stars, Dakota’s textured waves and neutral shimmery makeup perfectly complemented her look.
Mark Townsend, who frequently works with Dakota, was behind her latest half-up romantic style. The hairstylist shared an Instagram snap of his product arsenal for the occasion, revealing that he used a round Spornette brush and the Harry Josh Pro Tools Pro Dryer 2000 to blow dry her hair.
For Dakota’s signature tousled waves style, Mark always loads her hair up with Dove Refresh+Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo to give the waves he creates more texture and an undone feel. For the How To Be Single premiere, Mark added a loosely twisted half knot at the back of her head, leaving her bangs loose at the front.

For her makeup, Pati Dubroff created a gorgeous look that was inspired by her shimmery neutral dress. For her exact camel toned eyes, Pati used Laura Mercier Matte Eye Colour in Cafe Au Lait to contour the crease of Dakota’s eyes and blend under the eye. For a pop of shimmer, she applied a swipe of Dior Diorshow Fusion Mono Cream Shadow in Etoile across the center of her lids and topped with Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Midnight Cowboy, completing her eye makeup with several coats of black mascara.
For her lips, she added a bit of moisture with Laura Mercier Infusion De Rose Nourishing Lip Balm before lining and filling Dakota’s lips with Laura Mercier Lip Pencil in Hazelnut Tea. To finish the look, she added Laura Mercier Sheer Lip Colour in Nude Lips.
