Aren’t you supposed to play dead during a bear attack? Someone should have explained that concept to the hikers in Hyundai’s hilarious new Super Bowl ad. See how the backpackers escape the bears here.
In the commercial for Hyundai’s new Elantra, a young couple and a friend are in desperate need of a quick getaway as they sprint through a foggy forest while being chased by wild bears. Lucky for them their new car has a special life-saving feature just for this situation. Watch the spot for the secret to their escape.
“Go, GO, GO,” yells the guy to his girlfriend as she stumbles along while bears growl behind them in the ad that is set to debut during Super Bowl 50, on Feb. 7. What the bears don’t know is that the frightened pair left their trusty new Elantra nearby. The Hyundai is equipped with awesome new technology, including a remote start!
A car like that could have been useful to Leonardo DiCaprio who instead opted for the playing dead tactic during his Oscar nominated performance. Leo picked up a 2016 SAG Award for his role as a grizzly mountain man and is expected to win an Oscar too. Maybe he should pick up a new Elantra too?
Just before being eaten by the snarling bears one of the hikers yells, “start my car,” into his watch and the Hyundai kicks to life just in time. Genius. The couple jumps in the running car, evades the hungry bears and drive away safely. Whew!
So far, tons of Super Bowl ads have been coming out early. Did you see the sheep belting out some Queen in the Honda ad? Or what about James Harden in the mysterious Taco Bell commercial? Or our favorite, the crazy alien ad for avocados?
It is kind of smart for so many companies to share their ads ahead of the big game. It gives us all a chance to enjoy the funny spots now and then we can use the commercial time for important stuff, like grabbing more wings and going to the bathroom!
What do you think of the Hyundai ad Hollywoodlifers? Which is your favorite Super Bowl ad?
