Just over two weeks after losing her husband and then her brother, Celine Dion has reportedly decided to return to her Las Vegas residency on Wednesday, Feb. 3.
It has been a tough few weeks for Celine Dion, but she knows that the show must go on. On Wednesday night, Feb. 3, Celine will perform at her Las Vegas residency for the very first time since her husband, Rene, lost his battle with cancer on Jan. 14. This will also be the first performance since her brother, Daniel Dion, also died from cancer just a couple of days after Rene.
Celine is planning a “celebration of life” service at the Caesars Palace Colosseum on Feb. 3, reports TMZ. The report claims that Celine is set to speak at the event, but not sing. It’s unclear whether or not she plans to surprise the crowd with a song or two in her husband’s honor.
For now, Celine’s shows will remain cancelled until Feb. 23, the original date she planned to return for a performance. Hopefully by then Celine has found the strength to sing again, especially because her husband, Rene, was truly her biggest fan.
On Friday, Jan. 29, Celine released a statement on her official website to thank her friends, family, and fans for their support during her very difficult time. “We have felt your love for Rene, and your prayers and compassion have helped us during the most difficult time… more than you’ll ever know,” Celine wrote in her heartfelt message.
