Yikes! Zayn Malik just will not stop bashing his former band One Direction, and he’s starting coming across as brat at this point. You’ll never believe the new claims he making about the group that gave him worldwide fame.

This is getting really tiresome! Zayn Malik just won’t keep his mouth shut when it comes to how much he didn’t want to be a part of One Direction. Now he’s making shocking claims he never really wanted to be part of the band, and wanted out practically from the beginning! Whining about it now just makes him seem so ungrateful for all of the fame and wealth he got from being a part of the most successful boy band in history. Read on for what he said in a shocking new interview!

“I think I always wanted to go, from the first year, really,” the 23-year-old tells Beats 1 Radio‘s Zane Lowe. of wanting to leave 1D. “I never really wanted to be there in the band, I just gave it a go because it was there at the time.” Ouch! What a diss on the group that make him a household name! “When I realized the direction we were going in, mind the pun, with the music, I instantly realized it wasn’t for me because I couldn’t put any input in,” he adds.

He claims that the band stifled his creativity and individuality, saying “I had to start thinking about myself, I was always writing anyway even when I was in the band…I always knew.” He even says the rest of the band knew how unhappy he was and that they begged him to stay. “I think the boys kind of knew – in terms of the music – that wasn’t my cup of tea,” he said. “They obviously didn’t want me to leave, but they couldn’t talk me out of it at that point. I’d already made my mind up.” Get 1D’s latest album Made In The A.M by clicking here.

Zayn’s been doing interviews ahead of the release of his first solo single “Pillowtalk,” which drops on Jan. 29. While we’re sure it’s going to be amazing and we hope Zayn goes on to have a great career, we just wish Zayn could stop dissing on the band that made him famous on his road to solo glory.
