So sweet yet so heartbreaking! Joey Feek’s final days are nearing as her brave battle against terminal cancer draws to a close. But she had a precious moment filled with cuteness and love when some puppies came over for a visit.
Awww! There’s nothing like playing with a puppy to brighten one’s day, and dying country singer Joey Feek certainly appreciated a visit from a sweet little golden retriever as she spends her last days in bed fighting to stay alive against terminal cervical cancer. We’re so happy she’s getting heartwarming moments like this to give her some joy and comfort.
“Some baby puppies came to play with Indy the other day, but I think her mama loved their visit the most,” her husband Rory posted on the couple’s Facebook page, alongside Joey holding the little pup up to her face and giving it a sweet kiss. Apparently a pal brought over some furry friends to play with the couple’s nearly two-year-old daughter Indiana, but, obviously they totally made Joey’s day as well.
Rory shared a heartbreaking blog post Jan. 28, where he talked about the gifts God has given him, including his wife and then their precious daughter. He then wonders why it could all be taken away in such a tragic way. “Why would He give us such an incredible addition, and allow it to be followed by such a heartbreaking subtraction? I cannot even begin to imagine going home to Tennessee without Joey, or living my life and raising Indy without her… but chances are, that day is coming,” he sadly revealed.
“Joey and I both have questions. Lots of them. Hard questions that we don’t have any answers for. But still, we have faith – we choose to believe. I think that’s why they call it faith. If we knew all the answers, no faith would be required. And so Joey and I do our best each day to only see the pluses in our life.,” he shared. SO heartbreaking!
The country singer was given six months to live back in October following her stage IV cancer diagnosis, but bravely made it through her final holidays with her beloved family. Her greatest wish is to live long enough to see her little girl’s second birthday in Feb. and while things seemed to be getting a little better for Joey around New Year’s, she took a turn for the worse later in Jan. and has pretty much been bedridden ever since.
Our thoughts go out to Joey and Rory during this challenging time.
