The Golden State Warriors wiped the floor with the San Antonio Spurs on Jan. 25 and they’re about to take on another team from Texas. The Dallas Mavericks face the Warriors on Jan. 27 and HollywoodLife.com wants you to see this exciting match! Click to watch.
Unlike most of the teams in the NBA, the Dallas Mavericks can say they’ve actually beaten the Golden State Warriors. Now, the Mavs will try to do what no one has yet and defeat Steph Curry, 27, and his Warriors at home. Can Dirk Nowitzki, 37, and his squad pull it off?
The Mavs are going to have to pull of the seemingly impossible, because they’re rolling into Oakland to face the Warriors on their home turf on Jan. 27. The action between these two teams might tear the roof off the Oracle Arena. It all goes down 10:30 p.m. EST so be ready to see this epic jam.
The Warriors have something to prove with this game. Out of the four teams who have managed to beat Golden State during the season — the Mavs, the Denver Nuggets, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Detroit Pistons — the Warriors have yet to beat Dallas, according to ESPN. Will they finally avenge their Dec. 30 loss?
Fans thought that the San Antonio Spurs were going to upset the Warriors when they played on Jan. 25, but after Steph scored 37 points in 28 minutes, the game was practically over. The Warriors ended up blowing out the Spurs, 129-90, leaving people comparing Steph to Michael Jordan, 52.
“There is an aura that’s similar,” Golden State coach Steve Kerr said, per Yahoo Sports. “Steph is obviously a worldwide phenomenon now and you see a thousand people watching him warm up or you see a couple hundred people at the hotel at 2 a.m. trying to get his autograph, that’s similar to the Michael phenomenon.”
However, Dirk and the Mavs struggled to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 26, according to NBA.com. The team is currently sixth in the Western conference. Plus, with Jeremy Evans dealing with a right shoulder issue and Devin Harris suffering a great toe sprain, things aren’t looking that great for Dallas. Can they remain undefeated against the Warriors? Or is Golden State just too much to handle?
