Michael is on cloud 9 on Jan. 25, one day after he and his teammates won the NFC Championship against the Arizona Cardinals to guarantee their spot in Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7. Immediately after the win, Michael snapped a pic with his adoptive parents, Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy. The family has been a non-stop source of support since they adopted him in high school, and we can only imagine how proud they are right now of their son!
Michael stands towering over his adoptive parents, who are completely beaming with pride just after Michael and the Panthers’ NFC Championship win. Leigh Anne looks happiest of all, grinning with joy while holding up the “number one” sign. And of course, they’re all rockin’ the Carolina blue! The Tuohy family was featured in the 2009 film The Blind Side, which follows Michael’s troubled youth. During that time, his struggles with family issues and education grappled with his undeniable talent for football. In the film, Leigh Anne is portrayed by the ever-talented Sandra Bullock, and becomes the driving force for Michael to fight to boost his grades enough to attend Ole Miss on a football scholarship. Such a heartwarming story, and now that he’s made it to the Super Bowl, perhaps we need a sequel!
