Before she even found fame on ‘Orange is the New Black,’ Natasha Lyonne met with director Danny Perez to discuss a role in his film ‘Antibirth,’ and now, the story has finally made its way to the screen at the Sundance Film Festival. But what made Natasha want to portray this crazy character? Watch and find out!
Natasha Lyonne wanted a unique and “zany” role, and thanks to director Danny Perez, that’s just what she got! The actress’ movie Antibirth premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 25, and it’s definitely an interesting story — get the scoop on the film right here!
The movie tells the story of a young woman struggling with a “strange infection,” and has to figure out what happened to her. But with it coming from her point of view, the whole thing takes place in a “paranoid landscape” with “hyper-visual sequences,” according to Danny.
The director described the film as a bit “manic and schizophrenic,” which, as Natasha points out, usually gets a “bad rep.” So what could possibly have made her want to sign on for something like this?! “I like going out on a limb and trying something zany,” she explains. “And I knew that Danny would do that.”
This film certainly does seem interesting, don’t you think!? Learn more about the movie in the video above!
