Fans who want to hear Aaron Carter sing ‘I Want Candy’ are going to be very disappointed. Aaron dissed a fan’s request for that song, saying he’s too ‘grown’ to play it anymore. When they started to boo him, Aaron walked off the stage! Click to watch.
Aaron Carter, 28, is more than happy to perform for his fans. Just don’t ask him to sing “I Want Candy” anytime soon. Aaron rudely turned down the request during a concert, causing fans to boo and jeer him. Aaron then threw down his mic and almost ended the show!
“Not happenin’, not happenin’. I’m 28, honey. I’m grown,” Aaron said to a fan that requested his 2000’s hit song during his Jan. 19 concert in Virginia, according to TMZ. Aaron wasn’t eager to play the tune he sang when he was barely a teenager, but he did say, “when I come out with my fifth album and I do a bit of shows, I’ll do ‘I Want Candy’ then.”
That didn’t seem to please the impatient fans who wanted candy right then and now. They started booing Aaron, who wasn’t thrilled with the response. “Listen, you wanna boo?” he said, before putting down the mic and walking off to the side of the stage. At least he didn’t moon them.
The show came to a grinding halt until one of his crew had to tell the crowd that Aaron was more hyped about his new music than his old hits. “He’d been doing this for a long time. Y’all know the old music already,” the hype man said. “If you want to hear it, go home and put on the cd – bang, bang, bang. But we’re here to give you the new stuff.” You can listen to all of Aaron’s new stuff by signing up to stream music, completely unlimited and ad-free, right here.
Strangely, this “I Want Candy” crush is not the only recent public breakdown from Aaron. The “Dance with Me” singer posted a long and detailed message about the pain of a broken heart in Dec. 2015. Aaron said he was feeling “shattered” and “completely devastated,” before sort of trashing his unmentioned ex as being “too immature to handle confrontation like an adult.”
Throwing a fit might not be handling confrontation like an adult, but at least Aaron didn’t pick a fight like his brother, Nick Carter, did. Nick reportedly got into a nasty bar brawl on Jan. 13, allegedly attacking a bouncer at the Hog’s Breath Saloon in Key West. Uh-oh. Things didn’t end well for the Backstreet Boy — he wound up behind bars for his trouble.
Are you upset by Aaron’s reaction, HollywoodLifers? Or are you still a fan?
