With the news that ‘Friends’ is one of many shows reuniting for a James Borrows NBC special, we had to know — will everyone from ‘Will & Grace’ be there?
Sean Hayes knows he was part of the most legendary sitcoms of all time, and he can’t wait to get together with his costars on Will & Grace for a good cause. The NBC special that will also reunite the Friends cast, as well as Cheers, Frasier and more, will be a tribute to director Jimmy Borrows, who actually worked on every one of the 188 episodes of Will and Grace. Sean, who portrayed Jack, is calling the special “the reunion of all reunions.”
“We’ve confirmed all casts from all shows. On January 24 we tape, and it airs February 21,” he said, speaking to a group of reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour, including HollywoodLife.com. “It’s the reunion of all reunion shows. its going to be unlike anything everyone’s ever seen.”
He also added that he refers to Jim as “the Steven Spielberg of TV.” Of course, he was at TCA to promote his new show, Crowded, in which he serves as an executive producer on. “This show, I’ve witnessed the same feeling that I had on Will and Grace and Hot in Cleveland,” he told us. “And I’m not just saying that. The laughs are enormous and the writing is so smart and quick. I honestly believe if people give it a chance, it’s going to be a massive hit.”
Will and Grace ran from 1998 to 2006, and we can expect to see Sean with his costars Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, and Megan Mullally. Plus, Megan and Debra are both on their own NBC shows — Debra on The Mysteries of Laura; and Megan on You, Me and the Apocalypse.
