Yay! After seven amazing seasons of playing Don Draper on the hit TV show ‘Mad Men’, Jon Hamm definitely earned the honor of being the Golden Globes’ Best Actor in a TV Drama! We have all the details, here.
We’re so thrilled that Don Draper, er, Jon Hamm, 44, won Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series-Drama at the 2016 Golden Globes! The amazing actor totally deserved it after playing one of our favorite characters for seven whole seasons. See what he said in his sweet speech, right here.
There was some serious competition for the 2016 Best TV Actor in a drama. Between Bob Odenkirk, Jon Hamm, Rami Malek, Wagner Moura, and Liev Schreiber, it’s so hard to say who’s the best, because they’re all so talented! However, we’re thrilled that Jon won, because he’s played one of our favorite characters (Don Draper) for seven seasons, and it seemed especially fitting that he won this year because it’s the end of Mad Men. This is his second time winning the award for his portrayal of Don. You can binge on Mad Men RIGHT HERE.
Even though it was so well-deserved, the ever-humble Jon still seemed surprised and thrilled when they called out his name as winner over who he called an “insanely talented group of actors.” He made his way to the stage, and he gave the sweetest speech! He adorably fumbled for a moment or two over what to say, explaining “I really did not think I was going to do this.” Well, we knew you would, Jon!
He graciously thanked the studio that made sure the show got “on the air and stayed on the air.” But most importantly, and emotionally, he thanked the writers for creating the character he plays so well, Don. He was so appreciative for the creation of a “horrible person all the way through to the end of the ride, and picking me to play them.” He ended his speech with a simple “thank you so much.”
Not to mention, Jon looked amazing! He rocked a sharp, classic black tux with a crisp white button down underneath. And with that sexy stubble, he looked hotter than ever! We’re so happy to see him win for Mad Men, and even though it’s over, we can’t wait to see the next role he’ll be nominated for!
