Football in January means only one thing: the NFL playoffs! The Pittsburgh Steelers will face the Cincinnati Bengals in an exciting Wild Card match on Jan. 9, and HollywoodLife.com wants you to see every minute. Click to watch!
The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the toughest teams in NFL history, and they’ll need their strength when they face the Cincinnati Bengals. A lot is on the line: the winner of this match will advance in the 2016 NFL playoffs while the loser will have to watch the Super Bowl from home!
This wildcard match between these two giants of the Gridiron will take place on Jan. 9. Forget Friday Night Lights — Saturday night is a perfect night for football, so when the game kicks off at 8:15 p.m. EST, you better be ready for some football!
Ben Roethlisberger hopes to lead his team to another Super Bowl victory. The Steelers actually beat the Bengals back in Week 14 of the NFL season, reports Bleacher Report, so they know how to get the job. However, Big Ben has been prone to interceptions in the last half of the regular season. If he can’t throw the ball to his own players, the Steeler’s post-season may be over before they know it!
However, the Bengals are going into the match without their quarterback, Andy Dalton. He will sit the game out with a broken thumb, according to ESPN, an injury he suffered during a game with the — surprise, surprise — the Steelers. AJ McCarron will step up to take over the position. A Bengals win will be one for the history books, as AJ would be the first NFL quarterback since 1979 to win a playoff game having three or fewer previous starts.
The injury bug has also bitten the Steelers, as DeAngelo Williams is out with an injury, according to ESPN. The Steelers’ star running back has rushed for nearly 1,000 yards this season and has 11 touchdowns on 200 carries. With him on the bench, Fitzgerald Toussaint and Jordan Todman will try to pick up the slack.
If the Bengals beat the Steelers, their next stop would be in Foxboro to face the New England Patriots. If the Steelers pull out the win, they could either end up taking on the Patriots or the Denver Broncos – depending on the result of the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans game.
Who do you want to win, HollywoodLifers? Steelers or Bengals?
