It looks like Clay Aiken’s catty outburst on Twitter during the ‘American Idol’ premiere on Jan. 6 didn’t burn any bridges. A source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the season 2 runner-up is still ‘welcome’ on the show. Here’s why.
Wow. Even after former American Idol contestant Clay Aiken, 37, totally ripped the show during the premiere of it’s farewell season, a source is EXCLUSIVELY telling HollywoodLife.com he’s still being asked to participate. Find out why he’s still “welcome” here!
Ever after Clay totally railed on American Idol on Jan. 6, the show isn’t going to blacklist the former almost-idol and politician, and it’s all in the name of audience nostalgia. “Everyone has been asked to return in some way shape or form this season,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Even Nicki Minaj, who doesn’t have many supporters from her past stint has been asked to do something.” Wanna re-live your favorite parts of American Idol? You can, RIGHT HERE!
However, Idol realizes that extending the offer doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll get an RSVP. “Do they expect everyone to say yes and have it work out? Absolutely not!” continued the source EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. But they’re trying their darnedest to get all of the alums and former judges involved. “They are interested in making this year a celebration, this year to have moments that fans will remember forever. And Clay is welcomed to appear in the future.”
When it comes to Clay’s brutal attack? “They aren’t going to take the diss tweets to heart,” the source explained to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. Clay was clearly not satisfied with the premiere of Idol’s last season on Jan. 6, taking to Twitter to say “It’s VERY clear now that
@SimonCowell was the reason @AmericanIdol was a hit. I’ve watched root canals more entertaining than these judges.” And that’s not all he had to say about the judges. “Oh good Lord… those boring ass responses from the judges!? Where is Simon when you need him!? That guy need a hook to pull him off stage.”
Clay made it very clear that he’s totally over the TV show that gave him his start. “Well… now I know why the ratings are down. ” Ouch. Well, at least the producers of the show think it’ll be good. “The producers are confidant they have a great season lined up that people will love, just wait and see!” the source told us. We can’t wait to see what they come up with!
