WHOA, Justin Bieber had a LOT to say in his radio interview that aired Jan. 6, and he even managed to take a little dig at One Direction…even if it wasn’t intentional. Did he just totally diss the guys as not having talent since they were discovered on ‘The X-Factor’?!
Shots. Fired. Justin Bieber, 21, basically just said in a new interview that artists who are found on singing competition shows don’t have a shot at longevity compared to someone like himself. Wait, is that a total diss of One Direction, the group famously discovered on The X-Factor and constantly compared to the Biebs?!
“I think people understand and know I was found on YouTube for my talent and not put together on X-Factor or something like that,” he explained in an interview on The Bert Show, which was taped Dec. 17 and aired Jan. 6. But the 21-year-old did quickly realize how that sounded, and immediately added, “That’s not a shot or anything!” Mhmm…
The Bert Show is the first morning radio talk show Justin ever appeared on when he first started his career, so he was comfortable opening up to host Bert Weiss in the Q&A session..which means things got really real. He even discussed his relationship with Kourtney Kardashian, 36. for the very first time!
“I’m being used man, what can I say?!” he joked, regarding the fling and insinuating that the reality star just used him as a rebound after her breakup from Scott Disick, 32. Still, he really didn’t deny the hot and heavy hookups, either. “No, no, but for real, she’s great. I’ve known the family [for years],” he added.
And, naturally, the topic of Selena Gomez, 23, came up. “She loves me,” he boldly said on the show. “No, I love her too, always.” The timing of his gushing comment was interesting, too — it was released just one day after the “Hands To Myself” singer’s interview with Rolling Stone same out, in which she claimed she’s “beyond done” talking about Justin. Ooooo! Check out Justin’s latest album RIGHT HERE.
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of what Justin had to say about artists that came up through shows like X-Factor?
