Julian Bunetta, 1D’s longtime producer/songwriter, shared a behind-the-scenes video from the recording studio, in which Liam barges in the room and declares, “So I want to do something fun, I’m feeling hype….We need to go electric.” After Julian rallies everyone and assigns instruments, the guys go into the recording booth and begin the funky guitar-led jam. Liam works his falsetto with “Oooh, there’s something in the way she walks/There’s something in the way she talks/Just another hideaway, hideaway.” Considering how catchy the track sounds even in the short minute-and-a-half long vid, we’re shocked the boys didn’t want it on MITAM!
After Liam sings and discussion over “Hideaway” begins, Louis chimes in and insists they don’t need two drawn-out “hideaways” in the beginning of the song’s chorus. Although we don’t hear much more of the song in the video, it definitely sounds like Liam and Louis created quite the groovy tune — we just hope we get to hear a full version!
As the guys approach their hiatus that begins in March 2016, the video of “Hideaway” has us thinking there’s a lot more unreleased material that Directioners may never get to hear if it’s not put out in the next few months. Wouldn’t that be devastating?! Then again, Julian’s video was titled “The Lost Jams EP 1,” so maybe we’ll be seeing more vids — or even an entire album — of tracks that didn’t make it onto MITAM. If anything, let’s hope they decide “Hideaway” deserves a release! C’mon boys, don’t tease us like this!
