Don Cornelius would be proud. The 2015 Soul Train Awards brought out some of music’s biggest and brightest stars and they all strutted their stuff on the red carpet. Each brought their own signature style, as Babyface, 56, kept it classy while host Erykah Badu, 44, turned heads with her unbelievable outfit. There were so many stylish looks — you have to see them all.
It’s hard to pick who had the look of the night during the Nov. 29 event in Las Vegas, Nevada. Though artists like Tyrese, The Weeknd and Kendrick Lamar all took home awards, it’s almost like everyone was a winner on the red carpet.
Janelle Monae rocked her signature black-and-white look, but she mixed it up with some sharp accessories. Bridget Kelly kept it sleek, simple and totally chic. Kat Graham wore a stunning emerald mini dress. It was just as gorgeous as her hair and beauty – flawless! Omarosa also looked amazing, showing some skin while looking absolutely elegant.
R. Kelly sported a leopard print jacket and a huge rock in his ear. He had to look his best, as he would perform later in the show. So would Cameo, the funk band best known for their massive hit, “Word Up.” The pre-show co-host Tank looked incredibly sharp in a navy blue sit and white shoes. Nice. He looked just as classy as Babyface, who wore a fine suit as he attended the show with his family.
We may have to pick Jill Scott’s vintage look as the favorite, though Erykah wanted to make sure that everyone was talking about her even before the show started. Of course, the “Love of My Life” singer was on everyone’s minds when she called out Iggy Azalea during her opening monologue, saying that Iggy’s music “is definitely not rap.“
And more from the show. Check out Tyrese performing his amazing new single, “Shame” here!
Yikes! Thankfully, there wasn’t any shade being thrown on the red carpet – just stylish looks. Which one was your favorite, HollywoodLifers? Leave your pick below.
