Looks like we won’t be going back to Capeside after all. In a new interview with ‘Ocean Drive’ magazine, Katie Holmes shoots down the rumors of a ‘Dawson’s Creek’ reunion. Cue the notorious Dawson cry-face.
Everyone loves Dawson’s Creek. It’s the quintessential teen show. However, don’t be holding out hope for a reunion. Katie Holmes, 36, revealed in a new interview with Ocean Drive magazine that she loves the show and the cast, but she’s not sure “a reunion would be as fulfilling as what we all want.”
“[Dawson’s Creek] was such a special time in all of our lives [but] some things are better when it stays the way it was,” she told Ocean Drive magazine. “I would love to get together with everybody, [but] I’m not sure a reunion would be as fulfilling as what we all want it to be. I’m game for anything. I don’t really regret anything that I’ve done. I’ve learned from everything, and everything sort of leads you to the next place. I just keep going.”
Katie seems pretty certain a reunion will never happen, but at least she’s game for it! The show went off the air in 2003, but it has remained a fan favorite over the years.
The core cast — Katie, James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson, Michelle Williams, Kerr Smith — have all gone on to establish successful careers in Hollywood. TV reunions are so in right now, so maybe they’ll reassess in a few years. Unless they want to incorporate flashbacks, Michelle wouldn’t be a part of the reunion since her beloved character Jen passed away in the series finale. RIP Jen. HollywoodLife.com talked EXCLUSIVELY with Kerr, and he revealed he’s down for a reunion — sort. “Jimmy Fallon style, I’d be in for that. That’d be funny!” he told us. “I don’t think I’d be down for a reunion, reunion, though. I don’t think any of the others would either. It’s been too long.”
HollywoodLifers, do you think the cast is better off staying away from a reunion? Or do you want to see it happen? Let us know!
